Eugen Wexler

Project Details

Established in 1968 as a supplier of only metal products, the German-based EuWe Group boasts international operations with workers in three countries and is the exclusive supplier to 10 of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers. Included among the EuWe Group’s products are center consoles, pillar trim, trunk panels, window frames, cladding, door sills, rear vents, engine compartment fairings and more.

EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics, Inc., a subsidiary of EuWe Group contracted with Evans to expand its existing manufacturing facility in the Alliance Industrial Park located within Anderson County, South Carolina. The new 67,000 SF facility will solely focus on the production of automotive plastic interior parts to support its main customer, BMW and is a $5 million expansion project that is in addition to the company’s main facility.  The main facility was an $11 million investment and marked the company’s entry into the US.

Evans scope of work within the 67,000 sf manufacturing facility included a 30,000 sf assembly/warehouse area, 24,000 sf production area and approximately 13,000 sf two-story office building. The facility was a pre-engineered metal building constructed out of pre-cast or tilt-up concrete panels and insulated metal panels with a reinforced slab grade. Specific to the production area was the 36-foot clear height requirement to support the 25-foot clear under structural mounted crane. The office building’s height was 16 feet floor to floor.

The completion of the facility enabled EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics, Inc. to better serve its North American customers.
