Savannah Christian Church began as a small church located in downtown Savannah, Georgia in 1964. Today, the church has grown to include multiple campuses accommodating up to 7,000 people for worship every weekend. Evans was contracted by Savannah Christian Church to provide general construction services including an expansion, the renovation of an existing space and the gutting and rebuilding of a nearby acquired property for their Henderson Campus.
The Main Campus Expansion allowed for better foot traffic flow and created more quality space for the children on the second floor. The second floor addition added child drop-zones, main auditorium areas and small group meeting space. The areas developed for the children required a very extensive level of A/V and gaming systems that were built into the overall plan. The first floor underwent an entry lobby expansion and added adult class rooms to aid in the Church’s outreach program. Evans also renovated a large portion of the existing first and second floors during this expansion. Rooms were highly modified and intended end user purposes changed. Evans also undertook a complete gutting of an acquired property across the street, rebuilding it into the Adult Ministry Building. The building retained its structure and some interior walls, but was completely refinished. The facility now features a worship hall, large group classrooms and a full service kitchen.
