Gulfstream | Research & Development Centers III & IV

Owner - Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

Location - Savannah, Georgia

Architect - WB Engineering and Ware Malcomb

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation designs, manufactures, and services the world’s most technologically advanced business-jet aircrafts. Gulfstream contracted with Evans to construct and renovate several offices and research & development facilities on their corporate campus located in Savannah, Georgia.

Gulfstream’s RDC III building renovation consisted of a 1,000 SF weather tight, insulated metal panel shelter used for the protection of servers and computing equipment. The facility required a new 500 kW generator, redundant cooling achieved with a DX system as well as CRAC units, and a FM200 fire suppression system. All MEP infrastructure work and final finishes were also included.

Gulfstream Office Building IV is a two-story 100,000 SF office building with a load bearing tilt wall panel exterior, brick masonry pier veneers, and a TPO roofing system. Inside, the building features employee offices and meeting spaces, a kitchen, and an employee dining area. Scope of work included design/build services, complete shell building construction, tenant build-out and a comprehensive site work package. Unique to this project, the building foundations bear on rammed aggregate piers varying in depth, which allowed for faster construction and minimal budgeting impact.
