Executive management

Richard T. Evans
Chairman/Founder
Tim founded Evans General Contractors in 2001 and leads the Management Board.

RT Evans
President/CEO
As President and CEO, RT leads growth and retention initiatives for the company. He joined Evans in 2008 holding roles as Vice President, Division Manager, Project Manager, and Assistant Superintendent. With a comprehensive understanding of a wide array of manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, and corporate environment facilities, RT’s hands-on experience provides real world oversight and direction for Evans’ clients, team, and design partners.
RT is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and serves on their Foundation Board. He is also a member of GEDA and NAIOP.

Jeff Jepson
Executive Vice President/COO
Jeff is a principal at Evans and serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As a member of the Board of Directors, he helps plan the strategic direction of the company and then implements the growth strategies to help Evans meet those goals. Jeff has been actively involved in the marketing, sales, and project execution of over $1 Billion across all market segments at Evans.

Chris Hilgeman
Senior Vice President
Chris leads the company's preconstruction operations and is responsible for company growth. He is our Distribution & Logistics market expert.

Christian Hersacher
Senior Vice President
Christian leads the company's Business Development operations and is responsible for international growth. He is our Manufacturing and Food & Beverage markets expert.

Jared Heald
Senior Vice President
Jared leads Evans’ teams handling legal, risk management, and human resources matters for the Company. He has over 15 years’ experience in the construction industry as well as experience working at a Fortune 250 Company specializing in Insurance and Risk Management Services and at a consulting firm providing Accounting and Financial Services prior to joining the construction industry. Jared holds a BBA in Finance and a Juris Doctorate.

Walter Puckett
SVP/CFO
As CFO, Walter is responsible for managing the Accounting, Treasury, and Information Technology activities of the company. He also assists in Human Resources and Risk Management functions. With over 25 years of experience with National and International companies in roles including Auditor, Controller, Consultant, and Chief Financial Officer, Walter’s depth of industry experience brings a broad base of knowledge to the Executive Management team. Walter holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama, and was awarded his CPA certificate in Georgia in 1998.

Oliver Kern
VP of International Business Development
Oliver is responsible for international business development and leads the company's Germany team.

Kyle Davidson
VP/Division Manager Life Sciences
As Vice President and Life Sciences Division Manager, Kyle is responsible for leading all Life Sciences initiatives for Evans. He holds advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Biochemical Regulatory Engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Kyle joined Evans, in 2018, to lead the Life Sciences Group after spending 15 years in the pharmaceutical division with a large national general contractor. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in the design and construction of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Kyle has completed projects both domestic and international in roles from equipment procurement through Project Executive. Kyle has a strong background in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical process equipment and instrumentation. Kyle is active in his community serving on the board of directors as membership chair for a local non-profit group and continues to support his alma mater by guest lecturing in special topics engineering classes.

Randy Penland
VP of Preconstruction
Randy is Vice President of Preconstruction and oversees the preparation of cost estimates, contractor’s bid packages, bid review, client presentations, estimate analysis, and award discussions for various projects nationally. He demonstrates a wide range of construction and estimating knowledge with in-depth expertise in highly complicated and technical advanced manufacturing and Life Sciences projects. Randy is well versed in all of Evans core markets, has experience in both field operations and preconstruction, and mentors’ estimators just beginning their career. Randy earned a B.S. from Georgia Southern University.

Sarah Rothwein
VP/ Senior Preconstruction Coordinator
Sarah coordinates preconstruction efforts for the company. She also oversees marketing, public relations, and people focused initiatives.
REGIONAL & FIELD OPERATIONS

John De Lay
VP of Field Operations
John oversees and coordinates all field operations and personnel as well as project schedules and mobilization efforts for the company.

Ronnie Cupp
SVP/Division Manager Atlanta
An industry veteran, holding a General Contractors license in multiple states, Ronnie boasts expertise that spans across the country from California to Miami, Detroit to Dallas. His adaptability and network provide Evans the ability to explore areas for growth both geographically and industry focused. As Senior Vice President and Division Manager of Atlanta, Ronnie is responsible for ensuring the Atlanta team’s success as well as the success of new offices. Ronnie has a B.S. from Auburn University and is a member of their Alumni Association. He is also a member of NAIOP and an Eagle Scout.

Jesse Bentley
SVP/Division Manager Savannah
Jesse joined Evans in 2009 and has held positions within the field and in operations. His proficiency in contract negotiations, design, scheduling, and cost control enable him to excel as Senior Vice President and Division Manager of Savannah. As such, Jesse is responsible for Division growth and retention efforts. He has a B.S. in Construction Management from Georgia Southern University and is a member of GEDA, and NAIOP. A graduate of Leadership Southeast Georgia, Jesse remains active in the organization currently serving as a board member and treasurer (2020, 2021). He is passionate about giving back to the community raising over $130,000 for BackPack Buddies.

Darryl Strunk
SVP/Division Manager Charleston
As Senior Vice President and Division Manager, Darryl is responsible for the overall growth and management of the Charleston Office as well as contributing to the strategic initiatives of the company. An industry veteran, Darryl’s leadership abilities and experience cover a wide array of project types and strengthens Evans’ position in the market. Darryl attended Kennesaw State University and the Southern Tech (CNST) Program. He is also a supporting member of Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, SCRDA, and CRDA.

Christian Matthews
Vice President Raleigh
As Vice President and leader of the Raleigh office, Christian is passionate about serving our clients in this region. He joined Evans in 2020 and previously held project and client management roles for several national and local engineering design firms. As a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), he offers an expert understanding of a wide array of life science, manufacturing, healthcare, and corporate environment facilities. Christian’s long-term experience in the RTP market provides real world value and project leadership for Evans’ clients, team, and design partners. Christian is a graduate of NC State University, holding a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. His design and construction industry expertise are notable with certifications as a LEED professional, Project Management Profession (PMP), and Certified Energy Manager (CEM). He is also an active member of LCI, NCBio, NCEDA and ISPE.

Chad Marshall
Project Executive Charlotte
Highly motivated and passionate about Evans’ success, Chad leads the overall growth and financial stability of the Charlotte office. His expertise in large complex projects ranging from industrial to office and retail, drive value for clients across all of Evans’ core markets. Chad is actively involved in TCA (Tilt-Up Concrete Association) and serves on their Board of Directions for Tilt Up Industry Leaders of Tomorrow.

Vice President Greenville
Chad is responsible for the overall growth and management of the Greenville Office.

Chad is responsible for ensuring company safety by enforcing federal and state laws, health compliances, and training on best practices.
